How does this intuitive approach work?
The actor creates a state of ego-lessness: of openness, receptivity and presence (an experiential awareness of their body in relation to the space ), and alters their state of consciousness by engaging in a deep empathetic process. They immerse themselves in the story by dropping in the reality of the text whilst keeping their personal preoccupations at bay. They create the space for their imagination to take hold and revelation to occur.
The language changes them.
The process of transformation begins to take place, and suddenly they are able to see life through the eyes of their character.

It is the experiential self that anchors the intuitive actor’s performance in the moment. Consequently the intuitive actor’s performance deepens and deepens as time progresses, it becomes infinite in its possibilities and can be alive and bewitching, No performance is ever the same, as no moment is ever the same, and although there is a clear pathway of meaning, the way of traversing that pathway is never known, it is always discovered in the moment.
